SHABANIE Mine will know of their fate this Saturday as the executive is still to sit down and map the way forward on their future after facing the axe from the premier league last season.Shabanie Mine, who are seasoned campaigners in the top flight, had their fare share of challenges throughout the season which saw them going down to the lower league at the end of last season.
Shabanie is likely to join the Central Region Division One league for next season and will need to be strong and organised if they are to make a quick return to the top flight.
The Central Region had Whawha promoted to the top flight after they beat the challenges of Tongogara and MSU who gave them the much needed challenge.
Henry Moyo, the Shabanie mine team manager said they will have a first sitting this Thursday and will finalise everything on their way forward on Saturday.
“We are yet to sit as an executive to map the way forward and we will have the finer details after the weekend. We have been on holiday but we will engage each other this Thursday and Saturday,” Moyo said.
The Zvishavane-based side are facing serious financial problems and will need the assistance of sponsors to survive.
The 2001 BP Cup winners have also been losing players to other clubs notably versatile player Godknows Murwira who is now with the Harare giants Dynamos and midfielder Wellington Kamudyariwa who joined neighbours FC Platinum.
It is also not yet clear whether players like Zvenyika Makonese will play Division One football this year.
Should they decide to continue playing, Shabanie will feature in the Central Region.
Shabanie are also facing litigation from disgruntled players who have petitioned the Footballers Union to try and recover their salaries and bonuses for the 2014 season.
