Shamu tournament on cards

The tournament is being staged for the first time and is being sponsored by Youths in Tourism.

It will be catering for youths within the community.
The 16 teams that will compete are Neuso, Chikwangwadza, Toendepi B, Nyatsanga, Danangwe, Chambara B, Chiwanza, Chirinhengo, Kaguvi, Nehanda, Saruwe, Toendepi A, Chambara A, Mkute, Dombwe and Mkwasha.

All the teams are expected to field teams in both disciplines.
Project co-ordinator Chegutu East Province, Dananai Murwira said their aim is to promote talent among the youths from the age of 35 and below.

“These are the first games and it’s just a way of promoting sport. Some have the talent but do not have the facilities to explore their talent.
“It’s also about uniting the youths through sport.

These are the first round matches and the winners will progress to the quarter-finals to be held on another date,” said Murwira.

Neuso vs Kaguvi (Neuso B/C), Chikwangwadza vs Nehanda (Emojeni B/C), Toendepi B vs Saruwe (Wamica), Nyatsanga vs Toendepi A (Nyatsanga), Danangwe vs Chambara A (Gadzema (B/C), Chambara B vs Mkute (Shamrock), Chiwanza vs Dombwe (M/Hartley), Chirinhengo vs Mkwasha (Chiri Primary School).
