“This year there is an improvement and I am impressed with what I have seen so far considering that the players are still below 20 years old,” said De Jager.
“I think we have seen several good players at this year’s event and given an opportunity they will excel in the sport. I am not at liberty to name the players but I have been impressed a lot by what I saw since the festival begun.
“It is good to see over 100 schools parading talent at this tournament and there will be so much to expect. We will return later this year and hopefully some players will be given a chance to try their luck with our academy. The event is growing big each year and our partnership is interesting as there is good hospitality. We can have more of the Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira as some players have outstanding talent’’.
The South African co-ordinator also praised the level of competitiveness the young rugby teams are showing and hailed the players commitment.
“The young players are showing great commitment and they have love for the game.”
