Sharp-looking GAC GS3 Enzoom lands in South Africa

South Africans now have yet another Chinese SUV option with the introduction of the GAC GS3 Enzoom.

It is the first product of GAC Motor to reach local shores, through a partnership with the Salvador Caetano Group, which will handle distribution and retail in Mzansi.

The GAC GS3 Enzoom will be available in three model flavours:

1,5L T Comfort — R469 900

1,5L T Executive — R499 900

1,5L T R-Style — R549 900

All are powered by a 1,5-litre four-cylinder turbopetrol engine that pushes 130kW and 270Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

All versions ship with a 10,25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless CarPlay via CarbitLink App and Android phone screen mirroring.

Also fitted across the board is automatic air conditioning, cruise control, reverse camera with backup sensors and a multifunction steering wheel.

Externally, 18-inch alloys and LED headlights are also part of the deal.

Upgrade to the midrange Executive and you also receive leather seats, a 7.0-inch LCD driver information cluster, leather-covered steering wheel, rear ventilation, side airbags and a suite of advanced driver assist features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning.

In addition to all that, the R Style comes with a sport exterior back, sunroof, electrically-operated tailgate, ambient interior lighting, wireless phone charger, surround view camera, Type C front USB ports and High-Beam Assist.

The vehicles are sold with a five-year or 150 000km warranty and a service plan that’s valid for five years or 60 000km.

Stay tuned for more details later in the month when GAC Motor announces more details on its local operation and future plans. — IOL Motoring
