A HARARE man dragged his wife to the Civil Court, seeking a protection order, after accusing her of disrespecting him.

Simbarashe Esau applied for a protection order against his wife, Felistas Dzimba, for disrespecting him and verbally abusing him.

However, presiding magistrate Sharon Mashavire postponed the matter to next week Monday.

Esau said:

“Your worship, she is my wife, but she no longer respects me as her husband.

“She lacks discipline.

“She shouts at me, whenever we have a misunderstanding.

“She now has a tendency of going out without my permission and also picking up men in my presence.

“She even uttered a statement that still hurts me when she said ‘kupusa kuchengeta vana vasiri vako’,” said Esau.

In her response, Felistas disputed her husband’s accusations.

“He is lying, he is the one who calls me a prostitute.

“I am diabetic, I have pills that I take daily so my husband thinks they are ARVs.

“He told me he is taking a risk by sleeping with me.

“I have no problem with him, but mashoko ake anonhuhwa,” said Felistas.
