BULAWAYO-based author Glory Shekinah Moyo, popularly known as Shekinah, is working on her third book titled Dear Self: Things I Never Said to Myself, a reflective and personal work.

The upcoming release follows two earlier publications, Journey to Recovery and Girl, Get Up: Unleash Your Purpose, which established her voice as an author focused on emotional restoration and empowerment.

Shekinah described her new book as a reflective and uplifting read designed to encourage self-introspection and healing.

“The book is a collection of honest, encouraging letters written to yourself, reminding you of your own strength, growth and worth. Reading it feels like a pep talk from a friend who knows exactly what you need to hear,” she said.

She added that her journey as a wife and mother inspired much of her writing, as she has had to navigate balancing family responsibilities with personal ambition.

“Having been married for nine years with three kids, we get to be overwhelmed with life. I had lost my purpose and was now concentrating on being a wife and a mother. I had to dig deep, get up and try again in the midst of being a wife and a mother. This book serves as encouragement to my fellow sisters that you can still pursue your dreams and be a good wife and mother,” said Shekinah.

Her earlier works explore similar themes of emotional healing, resilience and self-rebuilding.

“I’m an author with two books on my catalogue. Journey to Recovery deals with finding your healing and overcoming pain, anger and depression,” she said.

“The second book, Girl, Get Up: Unleash Your Purpose, looks at getting up after life has knocked you down. It’s about rediscovering yourself after marriage, childbirth and still pursuing your dreams,” she added.

Shekinah said her mission as a writer is to help readers find healing and strength through her work, while acknowledging the challenges of balancing multiple roles in her personal and professional life.

“The challenging part in my life is having to balance all the caps that I wear and be excellent in each and every one of them. One thing I hope to achieve with my art that I haven’t accomplished yet is to touch as many people as I can,” she said.
