DANCEHALL artist Shinsoman, famously known for his Ndakupenga single lived up to his fans’ expectations after a spirited performance at Cape to Cairo in Bulawayo at the weekend. Baba Divante, as he loves to call himself, was received by loud cheers from his fans when he walked up the stage. The Mawaya Waya hit maker dazzled his fans who sang along to all his famous tunes.
Songs such as Mawaya Waya, Ndakupenga, Baby Help and Chibhodoro kept the fans on their feet.
In an interview after the show, Baba Divante said he was grateful for the support he was enjoying from his Bulawayo fans.
“Everything was up to standard and the fans were motivating and very supportive. This is probably the best crowd I’ve ever had,” he said.
Shinsoman sampled some tracks from his upcoming album No Doubt set to be released this July. The album has tracks such as Picture and Mama Divante.
Hip hop rapper Yoz later came on stage and joined the on-fire Shinsoman as they performed a duet.
In the middle of the duet, Yoz did a freestyle that left the fans asking for more.
Yoz and Shinsoman delivered a lively performance when they sang their collaborations including Sadza, Tasangana Zvidhakwa, Madhuve Wangu and Tine Dzungu.
“This was an excellent crowd. They were great and they showed us that they love our music.
“It meant a lot hearing them sing along to almost every song.
“I appreciate the support we got here. Even though Zimdancehall has taken the country by storm, people still love hip-hop and that gives me the strength to continue doing what I’m doing,” said Yoz.
