AFTER Ayanda Kwenda from Entumbane suburb in Bulawayo was attacked with an iron bar and had his T-Shirt taken off before he was allegedly robbed, he ran to Entumbane Police Station where he sought refuge.

Police officers who were manning the office were shocked to see a man dashing into their office shirtless. Upon questioning him, he revealed that he was mugged and robbed.

“He told the officers that while he had gone past shops which are situated a few metres from a place known as C –turn in Entumbane, four robbers who were armed with an iron bar and an axe blocked his way before attacking him on the head. They searched him and took US$82 and a cell phone. After that, they stripped him his golf T-shirt and took it.”

An ambulance was called and he was rushed to Mpilo Central Hospital for medical attention. Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.

“We would like to discourage community members from walking alone during the night because that is when criminals will be carrying out their criminal activities,” he said.
