The competition is likely to attract teams from all ZNA formations, the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the Zimbabwe Prison Services, the Airforce of Zimbabwe, the President’s Office, war veterans, Murenga Club, civilians, security companies and other shooting clubs affiliated to the National Rifle Association of Zimbabwe.
The event coordinator, Mufaro Takarutya, said they were looking forward to a competitive event where winners will walk away with good prizes.
“We are expecting stiff competition, the objective of the event is to gauge the shooting standards of the security organisations with a view to work on areas that need to be improved on,” said takarutya.
“The shoot is a sporting platform for interaction between uniformed and non-uniformed members of the Zimbabwean society.”
The Skill at Arms meeting is the second in the ZNA shooting competition after the Chief of Staff All Comers shoot.
It is a culmination of zonal elimination competitions held across the country to select the best competitors and is one of the country’s major shooting competitions leading up to the President’s Medal Shoot.
Priviledge Gondongwe of ZNA’s Mounted regiment won the event last year.
