their partnership deal with Mupfumi Tours and mark their move to Mutare, which will be their new base.
The Wild Boys have clinched a good partnership deal with Mutare businessman Esau Mupfumi, who runs Mupfumi Tours, under the brand Senator.
The deal will see the company providing the team with food, accommodation and transport during their home and away matches.
Mupfumi Tours will also help the Wild Boys in securing salaries and bonuses for their players.
Mupfumi, one of the community leaders in Mutare, has always wanted to see Premiership football being played in the city on a regular basis.
Wild Boys’ chairman Lewis Matindife revealed yesterday that they will be using Sakubva as their new home ground, starting with a game against Gunners next week.
Matindife, ironically, is from Mutare and will be taking the Wild Boys to his hometown.
“Shooting Stars have sealed a deal with Mupfumi Tours through their brand Senator.
“We adopted Sakubva as our new home ground and we are going to play Dynamos in a test run of our new stadium on Saturday.
“We want to bring back Premiership action to the people of Mutare, we will be playing all our home matches at Sakubva including the ones against the big teams. “We shall be provided with transport before and after the matches.
“Our sponsors will carter for the players’ salaries and winning bonuses and there are also some incentives that we will be getting,” said Matindife.
Matindife said it was his team’s mission to establish a base in Mutare permanently.
“If all goes well we are looking at the possibility of permanent relocation to that city.
“Negotiations are still under way with the Mutare business community and the local people.
“We already have some people who are scouting players from that side and because we have places for more players, we want to add players who live in Mutare during the mid-season.
“The starting point will be recruiting players who live in the city,” said Matindife.
The Wild Boys will host Dynamos on Saturday at Sakubva and Matindife urged all the residents of Mutare to come and watch Premiership action for the first time on their door step.
“The point is that we can only succeed if we get the support from the people,” said Matindife.
