Show puts Zim on fashion map

historic place and so after the workshop we took time off and visited this great place.
Even those who had been to Great Zimbabwe several times joined the first timers and we toured the monument together with groups of tourists from Australia, France and the Netherlands.
It so happened that I watched a programme on DStv’s History channel where they featured Great Zimbabwe and Mapungubgwe in South Africa.
Although I had not been there, I was quite familiar with the history of Great Zimbabwe and its people. Well, besides the Great Zimbabwe there are other great stories from this nation.
Just recently, Africa Magic Entertainment screened another great production from Zimbabwe on StarGist.
They screened Elite Model Look Zimbabwe, a top fashion and modelling contest. The programme which is co-presented by our very own Vimbai Mutinhiri and Lawrence Maleka took us through “behind the scenes” on the event as well as some red carpet snippets.
Vimbai, who is affectionately known as Miss Vee on television, looked awesome in her short mini skirt and matching “killer” heels.
The former Big Brother Amplified housemate and model displayed her knowledge of the fashion industry and helped contestants with tit bits.
What made the programme special was that it was held in Zimbabwe, shot in the country and presented by a Zimbabwean.
No doubt the programme certainly put Zimbabwe on the fashion map and hopefully Fadzai Muvuti will explore her potential in the cut throat industry.
Elsewhere, the Channel O Music Awards will be held this month and Zimbabwe again will pin its hopes on dancehall star Buffalo Souljah whose real name is Thabani Ndlovu.
DStv are upbeat about this year’s show and recently they have been hyping the show with amazing pictures of the highlights.
Quite honestly many will be looking forward to seeing South Africa’s rising star Toya Delazy. No doubt she got style and the fact that she performed in Harare during the Zimbabwe Fashion is all the more exciting.
