Showcase to bring together art groups

 

Ingokwethu Arts Association was formed within the Bulawayo City Council (BCC) recreational services section from which the youth centres around the city fall under. Council recreational leader Zanele Nyoni said the event will bring together different arts groups within BCC’s recreational centres.

They will showcase their talents in genres like drama, music, dance, and poetry.

Ingokwethu Arts Association was formed in July 2011

Nyoni said the aim of the association was to nurture, develop, revive and promote youths talent. This was through dance peer education poetry music drama, netball, soccer volleyball among other recreational activities.

Nyoni said this programme has support from the city fathers who have offered them facilities like halls, youth centres and play grounds to carry their activities among others.

The recreational leader said the programme has a membership of 15 youth centres.
