Renowned gospel musicians Blessing Shumba and Mathias Mhere will tomorrow share the stage at Pagomba Café in Beitbridge. This is the first time that the two will be performing together, dismissing a general belief that there is a rift between them.
In an interview with this publication, both musicians denied any bad blood between them with Shumba describing Mhere as his brother.
“I have always said it, Mhere is my brother in Christ, someone I admire in the ministry of spreading the word of God,” he said.
“The Beitbridge show is going to be one of our best shows and a memorable one since I am promising the best of performance. I am sure the show will prove to people that we are brothers who are in the ministry for one reason that is to preach and spread the word of God,” he said.
He revealed that he will be unveiling a number of new songs from his upcoming album titled “Holy Psalms Volume 2” next month.
“We always have songs, dzawandisa and we have to share some of them. We have sat down and came to a decision to release an album and if all goes according to plan, it will be out in August and another one next year.
“Holy Psalms Volume 2’ will be the name and we hope to have about 13 songs,” he said.
Mhere, on the other hand, also promised an explosive act:
“I am just excited about this show since I have been longing to share the stage with my brother and all I can say is everything is in place for the show. I am promising fireworks,” he said.
