Shun corrupt tendencies, cops told

“It is prudent therefore that the police should be geared for any challenges that come forth and ensure that all criminally minded persons are eliminated or rehabilitated into acceptable persons.

“Let me at this juncture encourage all you here to shun corruption and be custodians of good practice.
“Those who do not take heed should be warned that they will be doing it at their own peril,” he said.

Snr Ass Comm Munoriarwa said it was disturbing to note that the overall crime rate in Harare South increased by nine percent as the district received a total of 18 538 cases as compared to 16 988 in 2011.

“However, the district managed to score a remarkable decrease in crimes of concern as unlawful entries decreased by seventeen percent, plain robbery by eleven percent and murder by eight percent,” he said.

He said supply lines in terms of human and material support will be availed to ensure that officers execute their duties without any hindrances.

Senior assistant commissioner Munoriarwa took the opportunity to inform the public that ZRP police post in Glen View had been upgraded into a fully-fledged police station to ensure the security of the people at all times.
