The Royal Harare-based amateur had an impressive score of 72, 67, and 67 for a total of 10-under-par 206.

The Zimbabwe Golf Association congratulated the player and commented that Shutt is a solid and well-rounded golfer who can win tournaments with much tenacity and resilience.

Bulawayo-based was Michael Wallace was second after he shot a total four-under-par 212.

Borrowdale Brooke won the team event, getting the better of pre-tournament favourites Royal Harare, who came second.

The evergreen 15-year-old Miriam Masiya won the girls’ individual gross with a score of 224, while the ever-gangling and assertive Tracy Humbira was second with a score of 239.

In the next event, Falcon Golf Club, who were the defending champions for the Wingate Trophy, were dislodged by Ruwa Country Club.
