TOP amateur golfer Keegan Shutt was crowned the 2025 Julius Robinson Golf Tournament champion at Wingate Park and Golf Club on Sunday.
The Royal Harare based amateur had an impressive score of 72, 67 and 67 for a total ten-under-par 206. The Zimbabwe Golf Association congratulated the player saying the score was phenomenal and is a demonstration that Keegan is a solid and well-rounded golfer.
Bulawayo-based Michael Wallace was second after he shot a total four-under-par 212.
Borrowdale Brooke won the team event, getting the better of pre-tournament favourites Royal Harare, who came second.
The ever green 15-year-old Miriam Masiya won the girls’ individual gross with a score of 224 while Tracy Humbira was second with a score of 239.
Falcon Golf Club, who were the defending champions for Wingate Trophy, were displaced by Ruwa Country Club who proved to be too strong to contain.
The two-day tournament, which is the second on the ZGA calendar, attracted 120 golfers.
Meanwhile, Kieran Vincent made the cut in this year’s Investec South African Open Championship at Durban Country Club.
The tournament had three Zimbabwe professionals, including Ben Follet-Smith and Robson Chinhoi, who failed to make the cut.
