Siblings up for theft of 37 cattle

TWO siblings from Locard area in Insiza District teamed up and allegedly stole 37 head of cattle from their grandfather in Gweru.
The Sibanda siblings Sizani, 38, a woman and her brother Thulani, 37, appeared before Gweru magistrate, Sithembiso Ncube, to answer to a charge of stocktheft.

They pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Ncube ordered the two out of custody to 8 August for continuation of trial.

Prosecuting, Chipo Matshe told the court that over the period extending from 2007 to 2010, Sizani and Thulani stole 37 head of cattle belonging to their grandfather, Mloyiswa Ncube, 93.

She said the two proceeded to  the home of the complainant’s son where they claimed that they had been sent by their grandfather to sell his cattle.
