Nkayi-based musician Sikhosana Buhlungu is making waves on social media with a heartfelt song addressed to renowned businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo, respectfully asking for a car to carry his musical gear and ease his journey as an artiste.

The nimble-footed guitarist is known for cycling to Nkayi Centre from his village to perform in the business centre in Matabeleland North province.

In the emotionally charged plea posted on his Facebook page, in the video Sikhosana, who is in a bus, opens with warm admiration: “Respected Chivayo, I greet you this morning. I hope you are doing well and continuing the good work you have done for so many. On behalf of Sikhosana Band, I love you dearly and admire your work,” he continued.

The musician says the car will help him transport his instruments.

“It is my wish to drive and carry my music equipment. Can I praise you once more? Can I have a car to carry my guitar, life yangu ireruke,” said Sikhosana.

The song closes on a humble note: “Sir, I thank you. I am Sikhosana Band, tamba mhashu. As Sikhosana, I am very humble. Ndokutendai.”

His appeal has taken hold online, with voices across WhatsApp groups and TikTok calling on Chivayo to “bless the humble man from Matabeleland.”

Chivayo has built a reputation for generosity. In the last year, he has gifted luxury vehicles, including a 2023 Mercedes S500 to artiste Jah Prayzah, a Toyota Aqua to comedian Kapfupi, and a Mercedes Benz to Sandra Ndebele—each worth over US$150,000. He has also handed over Ford Rangers to randomly selected people in Harare.

Last year, Chivayo said his wealth and generosity are the result of a prophecy that was made in 1994 in Nkayi, Matabeleland North province. The prophecy said that a man from the Johanne Masowe sect with a lot of money would buy cars for people like plain buns.

He shared this story when he appeared on Zimpapers’ radio station Capitalk 100.4 FM on the Champions League Breakfast hosted by Tinashe and Phathisani. He said he wanted to leave a legacy of being a loving and kind person who helps others.

Fans have rallied behind Sikhosana, praising his humility and artistry.

One supporter posted: “Talent with humility—he deserves it.” Another wrote: “This is how you do it. He’s not demanding, he’s just singing.”
