ZIM dancehall artists, Silent Killer and Kinnah, have ignited Sting shows following the release of their diss songs on the new riddim, Gazza Riddim.
The riddim, which was released last Thursday, is courtesy of DJ Phabb of Bad Company Records.
Diss songs were common during the days of the late chanter Soul Jah Love and Seh Calaz where promoters would also organise a Sting gig similar to those held in Jamaica.
They were driven by heavily-promoted dancehall clashes which on occasions turned into fistfights on the stage.
Silent and Kinnah appear to be reigniting the old days.
In an interview, DJ Phabb, said he is bringing Gazza Riddim back.
“I produced the return of Gazza Riddim which features Silent Killer and Kinnah who did diss songs when I launched it.
“So Silent’s song ignited this whole vibe and Jack Radics came up with a Sting featuring these two artists.
“The diss song prompted them to come with this show in July.”
Phabb said this marks the return of Gazza Riddim.
“This is the return after I had done other riddims, including PtkPhabb Riddim, Explicit Riddim, 1 hour Riddim, Return of Bad Company Riddim, Gazza Riddim, Gazza Forever Riddim, Return of Gazza Riddim, Mangurenje Riddim, Emotions Riddim among others.”
The riddim also features Lady Squanda, Uncle Epatan, Hwinza, Kadjah, Prosper Fi Real, Ndunge Yut, Cc Chillspot, Chigogodera and Super Fyah.
