AN otherwise joyful Christmas celebration turned into a bloodbath when four men teamed up to viciously kill a fellow reveller in cold blood at a party in Silobela.
The Gweru High Court has sentenced Clinton Mlotshwa, Evidence Moyo, Decent Mlotshwa, and Mbongeni Msindo to 30 years behind bars each, after they were found guilty of the brutal slaying of Elias Ncube (35) on Boxing Day 2024.
The festive tragedy unfolded at Amini Msindo’s homestead in Hollando Village, under Chief Sigodo, where a heated confrontation between the now deceased and the gang spiralled out of control.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Ncube had alerted the host that he was being threatened, prompting a warning to the aggressors. However, the warning fell on deaf ears.
“As Ncube tried to leave the party, the four offenders chased him down, cornered him outside the homestead, and unleashed a savage attack,” said the NPAZ.
The killers punched, kicked, stabbed, and even used a broken beer bottle in the vicious assault. Ncube was stabbed once in the chest, twice in the back, and once on the jaw, dying on the spot in a pool of blood.
A good Samaritan, Xolani Ncube, was also assaulted when he tried to intervene.
A post-mortem confirmed that Elias Ncube died from multiple stab wounds, marking one of the most chilling Christmas crimes to rock the Silobela community in recent memory.
Now, the four party thugs will spend the next three decades behind bars.
