Silva hungry, angry man

TALK about an angry, hungry man who has not eaten and that must be Dynamos coach Paulo Jorge Silva whose team has not won a game or scored so far.

His tempter has not done him any good. He has been spotted venting his anger on almost everything in his path after a bad day in the office.

a?We have told him time and again that he is an adult. He should grow up and show maturity. We have told him that he is in Zimbabwe to pursue a coaching career not boxing. He should be in football to make friends not enemies,a? said Kenny Mubaiwa, the Dynamos chairman.

The club had to rebuke the controversial Portuguese coach after he assaulted and injured a ZBC female journalist Vivian Bangamu who sought to interview him at the teamas training base during the pre-season period.

Silva also had a brawl with the Harare football giantas goalkeepersa coach Gift Muzadzi. He recently clashed with the Supersport television crew as DeMbare fell to Chicken Inn 3-0 in a league opener that was played on 1 April at Barbourfields Stadium.

As if this was not enough, a couple of weeks ago during a training match against Prophet Walter Magayaas Northern Region Division One side Yadah Gunners, he clashed with Gunnersa security personnel. Sadly there might be little time for him to a?grow upa? since he has been given a three game MUST-win target or else pack his bags.A In his words:
a?Iam a passionate someone and I came here to win. Itas unfortunate we are yet to win. I want to do my job and I respect it. I am hungry and I want to bring success at Dynamos.A . . . We need to work on our strike force and get goals,a? said Silva.

In Dynamosa last five matches, they were dumped out of the ZNA Charity Shield, following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of ZPC Kariba, then there was a 3-0 loss to Chicken Inn in a season opener.

They were held to a frustrating home draw against David Mandigoraas Triangle in another league match before being booted out of the Independence Cup by the Gamecocks, results which have sent alarm bells ringing.

The club executive, led by president Kenny Mubaiwa, has been taken aback by the clubas dismal performance under the Portuguese a who has been blaming everyone, including his backroom staff, particularly goalkeepersa coach Gift Muzadzi for the teamas stuttering form, accusing him of sabotage.

a?I think we made a blunder by not allowing Silva to bring his backroom staff. We made a social arrangement whereby we appointed assistants for him (Silva). However, we knew that there were going to be a lot of problems and while we take the blame, Silva is the boss. It is now up to him to decide on whom to keep and whom to fire from the technical team because if results continue to elude us, we will fire him (Silva). If they fail to collect those points(nine points, we will simply fire them (entire technical team),a? Mubaiwa said.

Initially, Silva had been given a target of 25 points from the first 10 games, but that has since been revised and he will have to win all three upcoming matches.
