SIMBA Bhora responded like champions when they thrashed Triangle 4-0 at Wadzanai on Saturday. They went into this match on the back of a 0-2 loss which they suffered at the hands of Scottland.

They had also stumbled at their fortress, registering goalless draws twice against MWOS and Green Fuel.

But, two first half goals from Donald Mudadi and Ishmeal Nyanhi, who opened their scoring accounts for this campaign, gave them a comfortable lead before the break.

Never Tigere and Junior Makunike netted a goal apiece after the restart to drown the visitors.

They took their season’s tally to two and three goals.

Simba Bhora’s win leaves them four points behind leaders MWOS who also recorded a similar victory at expense of struggling Kwekwe United.

This was the champions’ second emphatic win at Wadzanai, having also humbled Manica Diamonds 4-1 last month.

Their Malawian goalie, William Thole, registered his eighth clean sheet of the season.

And, he appears to be making a good case for the Golden Glove race on his debut season in the Castle Lager Premiership after 12 rounds of fixtures.

The return of Isheanesu Mauchi, who was withdrawn due to injury in the late stages of their setback against Scottland, also helped matters as he formed a decent wall with Webster Tafa and Roland Kangazi in their defensive unit.

Simba Bhora coach Joel Luphahla hailed his troops.

“I saw on our first day of training that the boys wanted it more, they reacted to Scottland’s loss in a positive way.

“And it is very encouraging as a coach to see your players showing great character.

“They knew how disappointed our fans were and they rectified it in the best possible way. It is a game I knew would end well because of the attitude the boys had shown me during the week.

“This win was for our fans. And I’m also happy that we managed a clean sheet, that is what we have been working on and the boys at the back are doing a great job for us.”

It was the Sugar Boys’s eighth loss of the campaign. They had stunned Dynamos before this fixture.

But, it wasn’t the case for Genesis Mangombe’s men who are sitting just a point above bottom placed Kwekwe United.

“It’s not good to lose in this manner. We didn’t play well and we were bad on our transition after losing the ball,” said Mangombe.

“Our tracking was very bad and I think we need to correct these mistakes before it’s too late, losing 4-0 is unacceptable.

“We have a lot of work to do to manage the goal difference and our position on the league table. I also feel we need to make some additions to our squad, we are lacking maturity and depth in our squad.”
