SIMBA NOT FAZED BY PSL CHALLENGE

SIMBA Bhora chairman, Isiah Mupfurutsa, says they are ready to compete and is unfazed with the prospects of facing three big clubs in their opening three matches.

The Shamva-based side face champions FC Platinum, Chicken Inn and Dynamos in their first three games of the season.

“In terms of preparations, I’m impressed, of course, it’s a new team but we are satisfied.

“We know that with a team, it’s a process and we will continue with some improvements and working so that we try and perfect the team until we get to a level where it can compete with any team.

“We should be able to get some silverware.”

He added:

“We are starting with a big team and, if you look at last season’s championship. It was FC Platinum, Chicken Inn and Dynamos and those are our first three in that same order.

“But we are not worried about that.

“We’ve been preparing and by fighting to be part of the PSL it actually means that we can take on whoever fights us in the league.”

He said Simba Bhora have the courage to go pound-for-pound with the league’s best clubs.

“We are not going to be intimidated and we consider ourselves competitive enough and we are also ready to win games.

“There’s no team we can say is an easy team or tough team.

“All the teams are tough, even teams at the bottom log can actually surprise those at the top.

“We’ve actually seen it in the EPL, look at some of the results when top teams are shocked by small teams fighting relegation.

“So, we are not going there saying this is a big team or small team, we are going to treat every team with respect and we are going to win.”

The former Dynamos chairman says one of their targets is to remain in the top-flight league.

“Our number one target is to make sure that we don’t fight relegation, we don’t get relegated.

“We also want to finish the league in a respectable position and, as we fight to do that, we have to fight to get results against any team.”
