THREE Simbisa Brands employees were hauled to court over the weekend after they allegedly duped the company of over US$30 000.
Brilliant Tatenda Hativagone, Bongani Nheta and Paul Jackson appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi.
The court heard that between January last year, and February this year, the trio connived to steal from their employer.
The three were employed as delivery men and had Total fuel cards in their possession.
It is alleged that they would withdraw cash from various Total service stations and share the spoils instead of fueling their motorbikes as required by their employer.
They misrepresented to Simbisa Brands that they had used US$30 678 on the delivery bikes.
The matter came to light after a tip-off was made to management and this prompted an investigation.
The police managed to recover CCtv footage from various Total service stations where the three withdrew cash, instead of fuel.
The police also recovered a bike from Jackson, which he allegedly bought from the proceeds of crime.
