SIMONS SAYS

XAVI SIMONS was caught on camera yelling “F**K YOU” to a Wolves fan as he was taken away for medical treatment.

Spurs breathed new life into their bid to beat the drop with a narrow, but crucial, 1-0 victory at Molineux.

But the win was marred by first and second-half injuries to Dominic Solanke and Simons.

Dutchman Simons tried his best to play on after jarring his knee and going down in a heap, but eventually had to be taken away on a stretcher to the away dressing room for medical treatment.

Simons, 23, was on the receiving end of some pelters from home supporters as he was wheeled back to the changing room.

The creative midfielder didn’t take kindly to the abuse coming his way, in particular one fan shouting calling him a “f***ing w****r”.

He responded by repeatedly shoutinG “fuck you” as medical staff wheeled him away.

Simons’ knee injury will be a huge headache to new Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi, who was already facing a creativity crisis before the trip to the Black Country.

He said of Simons and Solanke’s respective injuries: “I hope both are not too important problems, especially for Xavi, because Solanke is a muscular injury.

“For Xavi, it’s a knee, and when there is a knee, it’s a more tough situation.

“We’re going to see in the next days, Monday or Tuesday. For Solanke, it’s not a big problem.

“I don’t know how many games we lose him, but I would like to know the real situation of Xavi.Because the knee is always different than the muscular injury.

“Xavi felt pain, but now I spoke with him two minutes ago, he feels better than at the beginning of the injury.”

An 82nd-minute winner from Joao Palhinha saw Spurs pick up their FIRST Premier League win of 2026.

They briefly looked on course to leapfrog 17th-placed West Ham and move out of the relegation zone as the Hammers were being held to a 1-1 draw by Everton. But a stoppage-time winner from Callum Wilson saw the Hammers maintain their two-point lead over their London rivals.  —Sun.
