MULTI-award-winning singer-songwriter Lwah Ndlunkulu is proving she’s more than just a hitmaker.
The 25-year-old star, whose real name is Lwandile Mtshali, has officially stepped into the business world by opening her own restaurant, Amaciko, in the bustling Joburg CBD.
She said it’s all about growth, purpose and trusting God’s timing.
Born and raised in Hluhluwe, KZN, Lwah has captured Mzansi’s hearts with powerful songs such as Ithuba, Home and Umuzi eSandton. Now, she’s ready to serve more than just chart-topping music — she’s serving good food and fresh opportunities too.
The songstress told Daily Sun that branching out into business was something she had always wanted to do outside of music.
“It’s just me trying something new because I’ve accomplished what I wanted in music. God has been faithful. When I ask, He gives. I wanted something that takes my mind away from focusing 100% on music and gives me inspiration outside of the studio,” she said.
But for Lwah, Amaciko is not just about plates and profits. It’s about purpose.
“I also want to give people opportunities, good food and music. I want it to be a space where creativity meets passion,” said Lwah.
The star admitted she draws major inspiration from her boss and mentor, Big Zulu, who has successfully built his brand beyond music.
“I get inspiration from my boss Big Zulu. If he was able to give me a chance, why don’t I give other people a chance too?” she said.
Now, she dreams BIG!
Looking ahead, Lwah said she wants Amaciko to grow into a franchise brand that can compete with some of Mzansi’s biggest food chains including giants like Galito’s.
“In two years’ time, I see it becoming one of the biggest brands. It might be small now, but every big franchise started somewhere. As a musician, people know and love me. As a businesswoman, they’re still getting to know me. I want to expand it, franchise it and see it grow across the country,” she said.
