SINGER PREACHES HOPE

GOSPEL musician, Timothy Timothy, is set to release his sixth album, titled Ndaona Kakore, which gives strength to those in despair.

In an interview with H-Metro, Timothy said the album will be unveiled on September 10.

“The new album is called Ndaona Kakore off a biblical line by Elisha, and it signifies the end of years of drought.

“It is like a cloud of hope, after enduring tough times during Covid-19 induced lockdowns, a prophecy for rains after a heavy dry spell,” he said.

He said his album was laden with spiritually-uplifting songs.

“The album features nine tracks – Ndawana Makomborero, Hazvisi Zvevakafitwa, Tsoro yaShe, Munorweiko, Ngaruve Nemi, Makorokoto, Zvinopfuura Wangu, Dzora Moyo Utendeuke and Simuka Ushaine,” he said.

“We took more than a year preparing this album.

“We did not rush it so that we perfect the work and try out a unique sound.”

Asked what makes his album unique, Timothy said:

“This is my sixth album and it is very unique in the sense that we tried to do a different sound by engaging diverse artists for collaborations.

“We put in a live feel on the album and it is going to be interesting and I believe it is an upgrade in both compositions of words and sound.”

Timothy applauded his team for the great work they did.

“Lyton Ngolomi my producer worked his magic, he always surprises me with his wizardry on mixing and mastering music.

“Bethen did backing vocals on the bulk of the tracks, Rumbie Zvirikuzhe helped me on the song Makorokoto and did backings on some songs.

“Trymore Bande featured on Zvinopfuura Wangu, Munorweiko features Chief Hwenje and I am probably the last person to do a song with the now retired Saina hitmaker, Tatenda Pinjisi.

“Mr J Mtangaz of Mutangaz Hideout and Bishop Moosah have also been supportive materially,” he told H-Metro.

He said that he was happy with his discography.

“This is my sixth album, the last one I did was called Tsamba Kuna Asafi, which carried a song which made charts called Vanokuitisa, featuring Mark Ngwazi.

“My first album is called Nyasha paNyasha, then Mwari Haasekwi, then Kudenga Kwaita Mwari and Ndini which carried the hit ‘Mukana Nenguva’,” said Timothy.
