WARRIORS’ striker Simbarashe Sithole is back in the thick of things at his South Africa’s Absa Premier Soccer League team Ajax Cape Town.
Sithole, who signed for the Urban Warriors at the beginning of the year, was one of the stars of the Zimbabwe senior national team which finished fourth in the Chan tournament.
The Zimbabwe Warriors finished fourth after losing to Nigeria 1-0 in the third place play off having been beaten in the semi-finals by Libya by the same scoreline.

Ajax spokesperson Milo Boer told Chronicle Sport on Friday: “Sithole joined the rest of the team and he played in our pre-season friendly match against Cape Town All Stars on Tuesday where we lost 2-1 and Sithole showed his qualities of being a top class striker by scoring the team’s solitary goal.

“He came with a slight injury from the holidays even though he trained with four senior players, trialists and Under-19s and played well.”
Ajax started their pre-season training two weeks ago as they want to do better than last year.

They are gunning for silverware and have added another Warriors star Milton Ncube who was at Highlanders until a fortnight ago.
