Sithole joins U-23 camp

South Africa and revealed he was thrilled to clinch a deal with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sithole signed a five-year contract with the Brazilians on Monday.
He returned on Tuesday afternoon and yesterday he had his first training session with the Young Warriors.
The Highlanders duo of goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda and Misheck Mburayi also came in yesterday. FC Platinum’s Lincoln Zvasiya, and Chicken Inn goalkeeper Liberty Chirava also had their first training session under the watchful eye of coach Friday Phiri at Gwanzura.
Sithole, who is still available to play for CAPS United for the next three weeks, said he was happy to fulfil his dream of signing for a foreign team.
“Everything went well and I’m happy to have signed for a foreign club, it feels good.
“I’m looking forward to the new challenge but before I can think of that, I want to work hard to help the Young Warriors win against South Africa.
“I joined camp today (yesterday) and the attitude in the team is very good, I think we will definitely conquer.
“The inclusion of foreign-based players is really motivating and the competition among the players looks strong.
“As a striker I will work hard to make sure that I score goals and help the team to win,” said Sithole.
Wellington Kamudyariwa of Gunners and Charles Mutero Shooting Stars were yesterday released after the morning training session to allow them to fulfill a league fixture between their two sides. Young Warriors’ team manager Wellington Mpandare said they were now hopeful of securing the services of Ovidy Karuru for team’s crucial All-Africa Games qualifier against South Africa. Karuru, who plies his trade for a French side US Boulogne, is one of the foreign-based players included in the squad ahead of the crunch tie. The other foreign-based players include Tafadzwa Rusike, Khama Billiat, Matthew Rusike and Trevor Mutero who are already in camp.
“We have re-engaged the club to try and secure the services of Ovidy (Karuru).
“Our match against South Africa is likely to be played on June 25 and we are negotiating with the club that we release the player soon after the game.
“The good thing is that Ovidy is willing to participate and chances of having him are now looking bright. It is the same situation with Tafadzwa (Rusike) and Khama who are wanted by their clubs the same weekend we are playing South Africa but we asked them to release the players soon after the match.
“If all goes well we are expecting him to join others in camp on Sunday evening,” said Mpandare.
Mpandare said they were expecting Matthew Rusike on Friday and hoped that, on Monday, everyone would be in camp including Joel Ngodzo who was mourning his grandmother.
The Young Warriors will tomorrow play against Premiership side Blue Ribbon as they intensify their preparations for the South African tie. After tomorrow’s morning training session the Young Warriors will be released to allow them join their respective clubs for weekend’s matches and re-group on Sunday evening.
With assistant coach Darling Dodo still unavailable, Phiri is conducting the training with the assistance of goalkeepers’ coach Peter Nkomo.
