Six arrested in Harare drug bust; police seize 210kg of mbanje at Aspindale Truck Stop

Six suspected drug peddlers were arrested at a truck stop in Aspindale, Harare, while receiving about 210kg of mbanje from a transporter.

The six are Robin Kudakwashe Tiba (27), Tungamirai Mavindimidze (40), Leonard Takura (44), Banwell Chilimba (40), Tonderai Rusikira (29) and Takunda Rusikira (26).

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “The suspects were arrested for drug peddling at the Aspindale Truck Stop.

“The suspects were busted while receiving 210 kg of skunk dagga from a transporter. The police recovered the exhibits and the AD Van used as a getaway car.”

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms three vehicles, a Toyota Prado, VW Bora and a Toyota Wish were recently forfeited to the State after the owners were convicted for drug trafficking.

The owners were arrested in separate incidents and have since been sentenced to different jail terms.
