The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) is spearheading the projects, which are nearing completion.
REA public relations manager Mr Johannes Nyamayedenga said the projects will be officially commissioned tomorrow.
“We will be officially commissioning the electrification projects at Siabuwa in Binga on Friday,” he said.
Binga district education officer Mr Edson Masungo said the connection of electricity to the schools was a milestone towards enhancing the quality of education in the district.
“With the e-learning programme this is a good development for our schools. Pupils will also be able to read and revise their work at night.
“Schools will be able to attract and retain qualified teachers,” said Mr Masungo.
“This will also allow schools to introduce technical subjects such as woodwork and food and nutrition.”
President Mugabe launched the first e-learning programme in Matabeleland region at Landa J High in Tsholotsho recently.
The connection of electricity to rural schools is also set to bridge the knowledge gap between pupils in rural and urban areas and enhance examination pass rates.
