Six injured in road accident

Chronicle Reporter
SIX people were reportedly seriously injured when the vehicles they were travelling in – a Toyota Ipsum and Datsun – collided head-on near D Square along Luveve Road in Bulawayo around 7pm yesterday.
According to eye-witnesses five people who were seriously injured were traveling in the Toyota Ipsum which was coming from the D Square pick-up point towards Nkulumane. The driver of the Datsun who was also seriously injured, said a witness, was driving in the opposite direction when he lost control of his vehicle leading to the collision with the Toyota Ipsum.

“It was a head-on collision.  The driver of the Datsun is the one who lost control of his vehicle and encroached onto the lane in which the Ipsum was and they collided. I think five people who were in the Toyota Ipsum were from a football match as they had sports regalia on,” said the eye-witness.

Bulawayo provincial spokesperson, Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo said he was not aware of the accident when contacted last night.
The conditions of the six and the hospitals at which they were admitted could not be ascertained last night.  By the time a Chronicle news crew arrived at the scene, the damaged vehicles had been towed away.
