Bruce Chikuni
EVERYONE calls him Big C.
And, Cephas Maseva has been in charge of security at clubs which have won six league championships.
Big C has evolved from being a DeMbare Superfan to a decorated security expert.
He epitomises the notion that one does not need to be a controversial bouncer to be respected.
The 50-year-old journey as a DeMbare fan began in the early ‘90’s.
Former Dynamos chairman, the late Phillip Mugadza, asked Big C to join the team as a part-time security officer in 2000.
After serving the club with passion, he was rewarded with a permanent contract six years later.
The second year, after his appointment as the team’s chief security officer, Dynamos won the championship.
The Glamour Boys won four more titles with Big C taking charge of the security of their players, coaches and backroom staff.
He was also in charge of the security of the club’s leaders.
And, when Simba Bhora earned their Premiership slot, they roped in Big C to boost their security department last season.
The Shamva side won the championship and, for the sixth time, Big C was associated with a club who were crowned champions.
“I have been blessed to have been part of something special. Winning four league titles with Dynamos on the bounce and this recent historic success with Simba Bhora.
“It can only be God and I will be forever grateful to those who accepted me at these two clubs.
“The list is endless and this career has changed my life. It is something that I never imagined at the beginning,” said Big C.
