A MAKONI man who dated his neighbour’s wife for six years will have to part with seven herd of cattle as compensation for his cheeky exploits.

Farai Manase’s affair with Victor Kujenga’s wife whose name was not revealed during a hearing before Chief Makoni’s court was only exposed after the former’s wife threatened to commit suicide over the relationship.

It is said Manase’s wife disappeared into the bush, threatening to commit suicide over her husband’s affair.

Kujenga then joined the search party for Manase’s wife who, fortunately, did not commit suicide.

“He said he would compensate me with two cattle and US$2 500 and he has since paid one beast, but is now refusing to settle the balance. He is still calling and texting my wife and I have the audios. I still love my wife and we are still staying together. I now want him to pay me 10 cattle,” fumed Kujenga.

Although Manase admitted dating Kujenga’s wife, he had doubts over the child’s paternity.

“I admit that I was having an affair with Kujenga’s wife since 2016 and I will pay for my sins. However, while she became pregnant when we had fallen in love, I am not sure if the baby is mine or not,” Manase said during the court session.

In his ruling, Chief Makoni said sleeping with someone’s wife is disrespectful and offenders should pay dearly.
