Offspring of the soil

David Matapo

Rise with great mobility and vitality!

Rise, show the world your native inborn quality!

With exuberance and a jovial mood,

Brimming with a glow of abundant nourishment,

Show them, ye offspring of the soil
How we celebrate the omega of our toil.

With your undiluted ethics and values

Unleash the African sap in its volumes

You are no mere child, but a true African

Rise, claim your space today

Wait not for the morrow, it has never fulfilled a promise.

Although the previous night felt bleak, remember it was only for the night

Elation and jubilation is popping up at daybreak.

The night was dark and ruthless

But it brightened the glimmering star

The darkest storm was brutal but a marvellous dawn was wrapped inside

Do not be captivated by negativity

Rather, crash it with positivity.

You are an offspring of the soil

None can defy you

Under a thousand suns of hope you bask!

Never allow eurocentrism to roll you in its massive traction.

Be principled and govern your appetite.

Your womb has precious sacred luggage in its carriage,

If then you get windswept, Africa is crippled

Therefore, respect yourself, for if you get windswept, Africa will be crippled

Do not forget that beauty blooms more when enveloped, cover your sanctified cargo.

With such, you are good to go

Now you have risen with alacrity

High up like a phoenix from the ashes

Walk with steely resolve and a fearless step

Shun captivity of negativity

Go write your own destiny

Celebrate the African victory!

You can make it alone with a glamorous peculiar touch because

You are an offspring of the soil!
