Sizzla remixes his ‘Holding Firm’ classic

singjay decided to use the services of his Judgement Yard artiste G Mac.
The star spoke with G Mac and he says “Holding Firm” is one of his favourites from Sizzla’s lengthy catalogue of classics.

“Being a part of the ‘Holding Firm’ remix has helped to boost my confidence. To remix a hit song, Jamaican artistes normally use foreign acts, but I feel great after Sizzla used me on this track.

“I feel great because that shows that he has confidence in my work. ‘Holding Firm’ is such a powerful song and Sizzla collaborations are scarce, so it’s an honour for me,” G Mac said.

According to the artiste, the remix has the potential to be as influential as the original.
“I think the remix will live up to the reputation of the original song, or can even surpass it, who knows? So far, the selectors and the listeners are loving it. We are going through a sad economic climate now. Not to knock anybody, but it’s not all the time we must be doing party songs, we need consciousness as well,” G Mac said.

The “Holding Firm” remix is already available on iTunes.com and will be available worldwide by this weekend.
An accompanying music video was also shot in east Kingston and surrounding areas.
That video is expected to première this Saturday on CVM TV’s “Onstage”.

“I am excited to drop back this song. It’s one of my favourite songs and I felt back a similar energy during the recording process and the video shoot,” said Sizzla.

“Holding Firm”, the remix, is the product of a collaborative production effort from Kalonji Music Productions, OD and Royalty records.
G Mac recently returned from a European tour where he performed at places like Belgium, Italy, Amsterdam, Paris, Germany and Austria. — Jamaica Star.
