admin2B. Startrack managing director Rickson Zenda said it is good that they have agreed terms with Skylink and they will focus on their main thrust, which is to development junior players.
“As Startrack we will remain an academy and our coming into Division One we will not make us lose focus by trying to play for the championship,” Zenda said.
“We are happy that we will expose some players as Division One can give us a good platform for the young players we deal with to be exposed.
“Our mission is to develop and scout for players who cannot have much exposure. The deal has Billy Shereni of Shereni Transport and Startrack Freight,” Zenda said.
The deal was to be concluded by yesterday and Startrack believe they will remain with the players they had in Division Two including two or three experienced players who aer expected to bring stability and maturity to the youthful outfit.
“We are just following our passion and we had our academy, which was in Division Two, and we have been working closely with coaches, who are involved in junior development programs in Highfield area. Our main aim is to give the emerging boys a chance to showcase their talent so we will add a few senior players to add value to the team. The drive really is to give the boys a favourable platform to play competitively and it is the only way they can get better as football players in the long term and we are happy that the first Division is the correct forum,” Zenda said.
Skylink had a reputation of winning the Startrack Freight Under-20 championship twice beating fancied opponets like Dynamos, CAPS United, DC Academy among several other top U-20 teams.
