HURUNGWE Central legislator, Cde Richard Ziki, has partnered with party members and residents in Karoi to launch the Smart Tembo Clean-up initiative.
The initiative, which was officially launched today by ZANU-PF’s Youth League Deputy Secretary for Tourism and Environment and Glen View South legislator, Cde Tsitsi Tawonhera, saw members conducting a thorough clean-up of Karoi District Hospital premises.
Smart Tembo Clean-up Initiative is named after President Mnangagwa, whose other nickname during the liberation struggle was Smart Tembo.
His other wartime names were Ruka Chivende, Skokripiko Rodriguez, Dozzo, and Trabablas, Dzokerai Mabhunu.

Speaking at the hospital on Friday, Cde Ziki said the initiative was aimed at complementing the already existing National Clean-Up Campaign, which was introduced by President Mnangagwa.
Cde Tawomhera rallied youths to complement efforts by President Mnangagwa to make Zimbabwe clean.
Unlike the National Clean Up Campaigns, which are held on the first Friday of each month, the ruling party in the farming town plans to conduct spontaneous clean-ups across the town, targeting Government institutions and public places.
Activities at today’s event included disinfecting wards, waiting areas and ablution facilities, in line with the National Clean-Up Campaign.
Members of the Young Women for Economic Development (YW4ED) also took part in the event, where they dedicated their time and energy to thoroughly clean the maternity ward.
