IN a move aimed at decongesting their banking halls, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation has urged clients to pay back loans using digital platforms.
SMEDCO Mutare branch manager Mr Ramson Muusha said the development is in line with their efforts to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“As the business community we are aware of the threat and danger the disease poses. This has seen us devising means of carrying out transactions while complying with the health guidelines recommended by experts in the face of the pandemic. Our clients, therefore, can make use of the online methods of doing business on their mobile phones,” said Mr Muusha.
Mr Muusha said the electronic transactions also create convenience for their customers as they reduce travelling and save time. Online platforms minimise physical contact and curb the spread of Covid-19, he added.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care discourages people from frequenting crowded places to reduce chances of infection.
