Sniper to celebrate birthday in style

music fraternity at the two bashes where a lot of surprises are in store for him from music promoters, family members, fans and fellow artistes.

Congratulatory messages poured in from various quarters, with music promoter and New Life owner Fidelis Ngove promising an undisclosed present for the gifted artiste.

“Sniper is a good artiste and it being his birthday bash, his fans in Budiriro have organised a present for him which they will present to him during his show at New Life this Friday.

“We all know that his music appeals to ghetto audiences particularly the youths and this will be a way of saluting their general,” he said. His fans and friends could not be left out in congratulating “The General”, as Sniper is also called in music circles.

One Milton Kaseke posted this message on Facebook: “It is your birthday, you are more than allowed to act like crazy! It’s time you showed the mettle you’re really made of! Sniper have a blessed one.” Another fan, Ellen Ellis, wished Sniper a successful music year.

“Happy birthday . . . I hope this is the beginning of your greatest most wonderful year ever,” she said.

The fun will begin at New Life where Sniper will perform alongside Legend Elly, Lutah King and Villa and there is no dout that he will be fired for occasion and belt out some of popular songs like “Love Yemusoja”, “One Room”, “Ndakabata Mic” and “Kuginyabvura” among others, which have made famous. Dressed in his military fatigues, Sniper is known for his powerful voice, hard-hitting lyrics, energetic dances all of which make his performance electrifying.

It is this popularity that has seen him performing in the United Kingdom in May this year apart from being nominated for a Nama.

He is often lumped in the same mould as another dancehall firebrand, Winky D, who also commands a huge following in Zimbabwe.

From New Life, Sniper will take his act to Mubaiwa Hotel — formerly Nyamutamba Hotel – in Zengeza 2, Chitungwiza where where the likes of Templeman, Freeman, Guspy Warrior, Shinsoman, Killah T, Extra Large, Madiz, Lutah King, Judgement Yard, Garry B, Smiley and Mockery will join their compatriot.

Born Donald Chirisa in 1979, Sniper Storm developed a passion for music back in his high school days at Seke 4 High School.

This will be a befitting gig for people in Chitungwiza since it his birthplace.

Since then, he has never looked back and today he is one of the country’s most gifted dancehall artistes.
