Socialite, Bosso supporter dies

Mandla Ncube, Sunday News Reporter

ONE of Bulawayo’s most popular socialites and staunch Highlanders supporter, Thabani Ncube has died.

According to his nephew, Makhosi Sibanda, a journalist who is also the family spokesperson, Ncube passed on at his home in Bellevue suburb yesterday morning from suspected Blood Pressure related complications.

“We are waiting for the post-mortem results but he had issues with BP, which is a historical health complication in the family. At the time of his death he was managing this complication through taking medication and there was nothing major or serious, which seemed to be affecting him prior to his death,” said Sibanda.

Ncube was 44.

Ncube was a staunch Highlanders fan and a club member since the late 1990s who hardly missed a Bosso game.

He made his mark as one of the founding members of Izinsizwa Football Club, a social football team which is one of the off-shoots of social clubs around Highlanders.

Because of his character, Ncube was part of the disciplinary committee of the Golden Oldies Social League.

He is survived by his wife and three children.

Mourners are gathered at 92 Gladstone, Bellevue.
