Socialite Patricia Jeke appeared in court on Wednesday for allegedly causing chaos and insulting police officers at Highlands Police Station.
Jeke (35) appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Michael Mafukidze, charged with disorderly conduct. She was remanded in custody to today for plea recording.
The complainant in this case is the State, represented by Emma Habeza of ZRP Highlands. The State alleges that on March 29, at around 10 pm at ZRP Highlands, Jeke went to the station following her friend, who had been arrested at the station.
The court heard she started shouting at the police officers, using vulgar words and name-dropping some senior Government officials.
She is alleged to have said Highlands Police must go down and accused them of taking bribes and vowed to have them fired.
Jeke then started shouting vulgar language directed at the police officers, tarnishing the image of the police station and obstructing other activities that were being carried out there.
