Sogo Rangers win NPLT20 title

Sogo Rangers beat Takashinga 1 by 35 runs in Saturday night’s NPLT20 Blast Final at Harare Sports Club.

Sent in to bat, Sogo Rangers made a competitive total of 180/5 in the 20 overs with useful contributions from wicketkeeper Mathew Welch, who was unbeaten on 54 off 39 balls while opener Jayden Schadendorf scored 43 off 29 balls.

Ryan Burl was unbeaten on 29 off 21 balls as Wellington Masakadza took two for 20 in three overs.

Takashinga 1 were bowled out for 145 with Sikandar Raza the topscorer with 37 from 26 balls at number five while five other batsmen failed to reach double figures.

There were two wickets each for Burl, Alistar Frost, Benjamin Banks and captain Jonathan Campbell.
