THE City of Harare on Tuesday toured Crowborough Farm where it is expected to build a solar plant.
This follows a visit by the African Mayoral Leadership Initiative (AMALI) team to Harare for a mayoral leadership programme.
Speaking at the site visit, Engineer Victor Musikavanhu said 200 hectares had been set aside for the project.
After the tour, Mr Zukisa Songoni from AMALI said it was good to be on the ground.
“We could actually contextualise how things will be,” he said.
In his remarks on the last day of the two-day workshop at Harare House, acting City of Harare Head of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Engineer Calvin Chigariro said council was able to adapt and appreciate what the project is about and the importance of data quality both in decision-making and performance management.
The AMALI team is expected to also visit the Municipality of Chitungwiza.
At the 497th Ordinary meeting of the Municipality of Chitungwiza, Chitungwiza mayor Councillor Rosaria Mangoma said her council adopted her legacy goal under AMALI and would help the council gather data required to set funding and manage projects more effectively.
