A SON who got two stands as his inheritance and sold the properties to finance his drug habits has appeared in court accused of plotting to kill his father.
Simon Mukureva appeared at the Harare Civil Court yesterday where his father Alex was granted a peace order against him.
Alex told the court that Simon recently hired 14 men to assault him following a misunderstanding.
He said he was now afraid Simon might harm him if the court fails to intervene.
“My son hired bouncers to attack me with the intention to kill me after a misunderstanding.
“He does want me to be the head of the house, he calls me a fake war veteran and he refuses to take orders from me.
“I gave him two residential stands so that he could start his own life but he sold them both and wants to remain in my house.
“I want him out of the house because he is a bad influence to his siblings,” said Alex.
He added:
“He has been harassing me, disconnecting my solar panels and reselling them to buy drugs.”
Simon said his father raised him in an abusive manner.
“He is the one who assaulted me, kicking me outside his house in the middle of the night.
“He calls me names saying that l am a drunkard and weak,” Simon said.
In her ruling magistrate Meenal Naratom urged the two to seek counselling and to find peace.
