AFRO-POP musician, Edith “Edith Mwana Weshonga” Manyika, has dropped a new single titled ‘Munhukadzi Wakakosha,’ which celebrates women.

Edith Mwana Weshonga believes the song will have a positive impact on women and girls.

The artist said the song was inspired by the passion she has to see women rise against the odds.

“This song came about in March when I felt the need to encourage women and girls to know that they are special.

“I chose to release this song in August, to coincide with the Women’s Day celebrations in South Africa.

“The greatest cause is to see women rising, it is a prayer for every woman, anywhere in the world, so why not join them in doing that?

“I felt the urge to inspire women to never look down upon themselves, to install self-esteem in them,” Edith Mwana Weshonga said.

The song was produced by Nyasha Timbe.

“It has been a great pleasure working with an amazing producer, I felt the growth of my music,” she said.

The artist said she has an album titled “Chipo Changu” with tracks like Chidembo, featuring Tocky Vibes, Vana Vedu Ava (ft) Stunner, Hana Yangu (ft) Dj Lesh, Chakanaka Chinokutevera, Nhingi Wanhingi, Ndiwe Wangu, Ngatipembere, Chipo Changu, You Can Make it and Danai Jesu.
