A Harare woman took her son’s girlfriend to court, accusing her of being a thief.
Mercy Mapfumo applied for a protection order against her son’s girlfriend, Faith Redzison, saying she had become a problem to her and the family.
Mercy sought the court’s help in barring Faith from visiting their residence.
“Every time I am not around, she visits and we end up missing our valuables. I do not know why she always comes when I am not around.
“I have confronted her so many times and told her not to come to my house, but she told me she would not stop.
“I do not have a problem if she wants to continue the relationship with my son, but I just don’t want to see her at my house anymore,” said Mercy.

Faith did not oppose the application, but claimed there is a story behind everything.
“She has intentions of breaking my relationship with her son to the extent of telling people and calling me a prostitute.
“I only went to their house once when I was invited by her daughter, who introduced herself personally to me.
“She has told me a couple of times that I will never be her daughter-in-law and insults me. She even stalks us at our meeting points,” said Faith.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the application and ordered Faith not to go to Mercy’s house.
Both parties were ordered to maintain peace.
