festival, we have started training and our coach Justin Oldrieve is doing a great job. We are all looking forward to the festival,” said Lake.
Lake surpassed Peter Moor’s record of 1307 runs at the weekend.
Lake is now the highest run scorer for St John’s College first team cricket since records began to be kept at the school. Deven Bell earlier this year passed Matthew Hogaard as the most wicket-taker while Keian Gleyle has passed 50 wickets at the first team level. Nick Bain and Geyle have also piled more than 750 runs at first team level.
It looks like the hosts have strong players in their squad but they will have to be at their best to match the South Africans.
The two South African schools to feature are Michaelhouse from KwaZulu Natal and St Andrews from Bloemfontein.
The local teams who will grace the occasion are St George’s College, Falcon College, Churchill, Peterhouse and Prince Edward.
