SPANISH-BASED NASTIC Sports Academy and Ascending Sports Academy are set to conduct a talent identification program in Zimbabwe.
Coridnators of the tour in the country confirmed the visit on Wednesday saying the high-profile initiative aims to bridge the gap between local grassroots talent and European professional football.
The program will feature an intensive week of activities, starting in Harare from April 28 to 29, before moving to Bulawayo from May 1 to 2.
Coordinator Willard Stenala said the primary objective of the event is to integrate standout Zimbabwean prospects into the prestigious NASTIC Academy project in Spain.
“The program includes school visits, training sessions, player assessments and family engagement activities. Focused on youth development, the event aims to identify talented young players and introduce them to the NASTIC Academy project in Spain,” said Stenala
“By bringing the initiative directly to Zimbabwe, the program seeks to strengthen grassroots development, engage communities and create more accessible pathways for young players through professional assessments and structured development activities,” he said.
Beyond the scouting sessions, the program offers a life-changing opportunity for the country’s most promising players through scholarships.
“This initiative aims to open real opportunities for Zimbabwean youth to pursue high-quality education in Europe while developing their football careers within a globally respected and internationally recognised academy, contributing to the long-term development of players and the football ecosystem in the country,” said Stenala
