SPECIAL Adviser to the President responsible for monitoring Government programmes and projects, Dr Joram Gumbo, has arrived at the Cowdray Park Magistrates’ Courts in Bulawayo, where construction has resumed following the appointment of a new contractor.
Greenfrost Construction started work on June 3, 2023, and was paid US$559 000, but its contract was terminated in December last year for non-performance.
Work on the project currently stands at 30 percent, with the total cost pegged at US$1.8 million.
Dr Gumbo is touring major projects in Bulawayo, including the Gwayi-Shangani Water Treatment Plant in Cowdray Park, the Presidential Hospitals Rehabilitation Programme at Mpilo Central Hospital and the Cold Storage Commission meat processing plant.
